Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how you control it.

Effective: January 13, 2026

1) What Social Sales is

Social Sales is a link-tracking and payout platform. Sellers create products. Affiliates (link posters) create trackable links and share them on social platforms. When a buyer purchases through a tracked link, we record attribution and calculate payouts after a settlement hold.

2) Data we collect

Account data: email, password hash, role (seller/affiliate/admin), and basic profile settings.

Product & link data: product names, pricing, commission rates, link slugs, and referral metadata.

Event data: click events (timestamp, page referrer when available, IP address, user agent) used for attribution, fraud prevention, and analytics.

Order & payment data: checkout and payment status from Stripe (e.g., Stripe session/charge identifiers; buyer email may be included depending on Stripe checkout settings). We do not store full card numbers—Stripe handles payment details.

Cookies / local storage: session cookies required for login, security, and CSRF protection.

3) How we use data

  • Provide the service (accounts, products, links, attribution, reporting).
  • Calculate commissions, platform fees, and payout eligibility (including the 30-day settlement hold).
  • Detect abuse and prevent fraud (spam links, fake clicks, chargebacks).
  • Support, troubleshooting, and service communications.

4) How data is shared

We share data only as needed to operate the platform:

  • Stripe to process payments and (if enabled) route payouts via Stripe Connect.
  • Hosting / infrastructure providers to run the app (databases, servers, email delivery if configured).
  • Legal / safety when required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users and the platform.

We do not sell personal information.

5) Data retention

We retain data as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal/financial obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account; we may retain certain records required for accounting, fraud prevention, and compliance.

6) Your choices

  • Access/update your account information in your dashboard.
  • Request account deletion via the contact page.
  • Disable cookies in your browser (note: the app requires cookies to log in).

7) Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and keep your credentials private.

8) Contact

Questions or requests: Contact us.
